The technique of Sandcarving involves using compressed air to force a stream of abrasive through a nozzle and onto a chosen substrate to etch or carve a design. With Sandcarving, many different types of effects can be created on glass or crystal, whether it’s lightly frosted images or deeply etched designs. The Sandcarving process results in exceptionally smooth, crisp lines, as it does not fracture the glass like some other engraving methods, which can result in chips or cracks on the edges of etched lines. Three-dimensional effects can be created by carving in stages, with each stage becoming progressively deeper.
When it comes to awards and commemorative gifts, nothing is quite as elegant as glass or crystal. Naples Awards offers a variety of striking glass and crystal trophies and awards - in both free-standing designs and with decorative bases – as well as paperweights, pen-stands, sculpted glass accents, and more at our customers can order. These come in many different colors and effects, and with customizable design elements.
Sandcarving can also be used to apply personalization on champagne glasses to celebrate a wedding or anniversary, or on wine and liquor bottles for a special event.
Sandcarving is a very versatile process, and our customers are not restricted to personalizing just glass. The technique is effective on various hard surfaces, including granite, tile, and stone. Memorials, pavers, pet memorials, pocket stones, and additional customizations can be transformed with Sandcarving.
